Setting Up OpenVPN for macOS

  1. To connect to OpenVPN on a device running macOS, use the Tunnelblick program, which can be downloaded from the link - https://tunnelblick.net/downloads.html (download the Stable version) After the download is complete, open the container and run the application by double-clicking on its icon.
  2. In the next window, click "Open".
  3. Allow app installation by entering your macOS password.
  4. Click "I have configuration files".
  5. When the installation is complete, you will see information on how to add your OpenVPN configuration file to Tunnelblick.
  6. 6. Download the OpenVPN (UDP/TCP) configuration file using a link like http://XX.XX.XX.XX:XXXX/mS84McHrsn/, which you received by email when activating the service:

  7. Open the downloaded configuration file by double-clicking, or drag it to the Tunnelblick application icon. In the window that opens, select the configuration setting only for yourself by clicking on the "Only me" button.
  8. In the next window, re-enter your macOS password to allow the installation of the VPN configuration.
  9. You can now connect to the added OpenVPN account by clicking Connect in Tunnelblick. If the connection is successful, you will see the result "CONNECTED, SUCCESS" and a message about changing the external IP address of your device to the IP address of the VPN server.
  10. Alternatively, you can right-click on the Tunnelblick icon on the top panel of macOS and then click "Connect".
  11. If the connection is successful, you will see the following window in which you can monitor the connection statistics.
