Root password change/reset

Password change

If you want to change the current root password:

1. Connect to the server via SSH (as root with the current password).
2. Run:
   

   passwd

3. Enter the new password 2 times
4. The new password has been set. You can connect to the server using the new password.

Password reset

For security reasons, the user cannot recover a lost root password by himself.

If the current root password is unknown and lost – create ticket to technical support.
