This article will help you learn how to install and configure WireGuard on MacOS.
To configure WireGuard on your MacOS device, follow the steps:
- Download and install the WireGuard app from the Mac AppStore.
- Additionally, download the WireGuard configuration file (wg_client**.conf) from the provided link: http://server_IP:port/xxxxxxxxxx/, you have received this link via email when the service is activated.
- You can also find VPN access in your client area.
- In your client area, find the VPN Servers tab.
- Click Manage.
- In the Access section, find the WireGuard settings.
- Download access information there.
- After installing the app, add the WireGuard configuration by clicking the Import tunnels from file... button or the + button in the lower left corner of the WireGuard app window.
- Then, select Import tunnels from file... and import the previously downloaded file (wg_client**.conf).
- Choose any name you prefer, such as "Ishosting". Configure the auto-connect feature for the local network or Wi-Fi (for all Wi-Fi connections or a specific one of your choice), and click Save.
- When adding a new configuration, you may see a prompt requesting permission to add VPN configurations. Select Allow to add the new configuration.
- After successfully adding the WireGuard configuration, click Connect in the menu of the WireGuard app on the taskbar or click Activate in the WireGuard program.
- Upon successful connection, the status changes to "Connected" (Active).
- To disconnect from the server, click Disconnect in the menu of the WireGuard app on the taskbar or click Deactivate in the WireGuard program.
