Why Do I Need to Complete KYC?
What is KYC, why was it possible to do without it before, and why do I need to go through it now?
What is KYC?
KYC (Know Your Customer) is an identity check to ensure that you are the one creating the account and not someone who stole your documents and is using them for dubious purposes.
This is a standard security step when dealing with money or sensitive data.
Why now?
Before AI, we handled moderation ourselves, and hundreds of suspicious individuals with stolen or generated documents and cards did not come to us.
The situation has changed, and we had to add this step to protect our clients and the platform.
How do I complete KYC?
There is now a Complete KYC button in my account. Usually, it takes 5 minutes, but if the verification service is overloaded, approval can take a couple of hours.
The request to Complete KYC does not mean that you did something wrong. This is a standard step when creating a profile to protect your identity, your data, and the data of other users.
After passing KYC, you will have full access to all is*hosting features.
If something goes wrong, message us or create a ticket for your Client Area.
Who processes the documents and how is the data stored?
Your documents are verified by Sumsub, our licensed and GDPR-compliant KYC partner. If you have opened an online or crypto wallet, you have most likely already been verified with them.
We do not store your documents — they are processed by Sumsub and deleted after verification (unless you choose to save them for future verifications in other services).
Sumsub encrypts your personal data during upload, processing, and storage. They are not stored on our servers and are not accessible by is*hosting.
If you do not want the service to save your data after verification, you can request its deletion. To do this, send a free-form request to privacy@sumsub.com.
